On October 24–25, 2025, the AI and Digital Science Institute of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science will host the fourth annual Fall into ML 2025 conference at the HSE Cultural Centre. The event is once again supported by its general partner, Sber. The focus this year is on breakthrough research and the future of fundamental AI.

The conference programme will cover the most relevant areas of machine learning, including generative modelling, diffusion and large language models, reinforcement learning, stochastic optimisation, computer vision, and robotics and autonomous systems.

On the first day, participants will be able to attend mini-courses such as Matrix Optimization and Muon: A Natural Perspective on Neural Network Training, Diffusion Models: Acceleration and Distillation, and Diffusion Models: Effective Language Modelling, as well as the panel discussion ‘Academia in Crisis: What Does the Future Hold?’

The second day’s programme includes workshops on Financial AI, Understanding How LLMs Work: An Introduction to Interpretability, Utilizing Intrinsic Knowledge of Visual Generative Models, and AI and Genetic Computer. It will also feature selected talks and the central event—a poster session presenting the work of Russian authors whose papers were accepted to A*-level conferences in 2025.

Alexey Naumov

‘Fall into ML has firmly established itself as a landmark event in Russia’s AI scene,’ said Alexey Naumov, Director of the AI and Digital Science Institute and organiser of the conference. ‘Unlike most Russian AI conferences held throughout the year, Fall into ML is genuinely devoted to science. Here you can talk informally with researchers working on the cutting edge, learn about the interests of different authors, and find colleagues for future academic studies or joint projects. For students, it is also a great opportunity to join research groups.’

Andrey Savchenko

‘In my view, Fall into ML is one of the best conferences in Russia in terms of participant selection, the quality of presentations, and audience engagement. I have taken part in it with pleasure since its very beginning,’ said Andrey Savchenko, Scientific Director of Sber AI Lab, Professor, and Leading Research Fellow at HSE University. ‘I find it especially valuable that the conference brings together most of the Russian researchers whose papers have been accepted to A*-level conferences this year. Such a concentration of specialists in one place is extremely beneficial—both for young scientists, students and doctoral researchers, and for experienced academics. Sber AI Lab is once again supporting the event: we are holding our own workshop, Financial AI, where four specialists will discuss how artificial intelligence can be applied to structured data. We are also bringing over a dozen posters featuring our A* papers from this year.’

Participation in Fall into ML 2025 is open to students, doctoral researchers, academics, and anyone interested in current trends in artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Registration for all participants is open until October 21, 2025.

You can follow the conference’s Telegram channel for updates.

‘Neural Networks Can Provide Assessments As Accurate As Humans’

Voice assistants have become part of everyday life. They can plan routes, play music and films, and answer questions. But the quality of their speech requires assessment. To address this, students of the Applied Artificial Intelligence Workshop at the HSE University and VK Engineering and Mathematics Schoolhave developed neural networks capable of evaluating speech synthesis.

HSE to Entrust Routine CPD Programme Development to AI

HSE University, together with the EdTech company CDO Global, is launching AI-based constructors to streamline the design of continuing professional development (CPD) courses. The new service will automate the preparation of teaching materials and assessment tools, significantly reducing the time and resources required of lecturers and instructional designers.
